西雅图公共图书馆纽霍利分馆坐落于西雅图的灯塔山上 (7058 32nd Avenue S)。纽霍利图书馆于 1999 年建成,取代了之前的霍利公园 (Holly Park) 图书馆(最初于 1943 年建成,为配合二战时霍利公园的住宅开发计划而兴建)。 二战后,西雅图房管局为满足中低收入人群的住房需求而改变了开发计划。霍利公园是西雅图多样化特点最明显的地区之一,也是中等收入人群收入最低的地区之 一。20 世纪 90 年代末期,为努力将周边地区从低收入阶层居住区改造为多收入阶层混居区,遂将整个霍利公园的房屋推倒重建。经重建后,一个融合单一家庭住房、连栋房屋及公 寓的住宅区“纽霍利”应运而生,住宅区内包括公共住房、商品住房和公寓。那时,尽管经历了先前的搬迁和紧随其后的扩建,但日渐老化和拥挤的霍利公园分馆迫 切需要更新换代。因而成为首个受益于西雅图“Libraries for All”计划而重建的分馆。1998 年,西雅图选民投票通过了 1.964 亿美元的债券发行案,也为重建工作提供了资金来源。纽霍利分馆由 ARC 建筑师事务所设计,建成后成为“校园学习中心” (Campus of Learning) 的一部分,提供的服务包括青少年辅导、西雅图社区学院课堂、托儿服务及就业安置和培训。
