The sisters Betty MacDonald (1908-1958) and Mary Bard Jensen (1904-1970), both writers, grew up in Seattle. Betty MacDonald authored the international bestseller, The Egg and I, among others, and Mary Bard wrote the Best Friends series for girls, among others. This is a slideshow of their King County homes and lives. It was written by Paula Becker and curated by Priscilla Long. The photographs of the writers' homes were taken as part of the WPA-funded King County Land Use Survey in 1937-1939.
