Integrating HistoryLink.org into Your Classroom
Each of Washington's thirty-nine counties has a unique informational feature essay on HistoryLink.org. This set of features can be found by searching for the topics "Counties" or "Cities & Towns" on the HistoryLink search page. By searching the Thumbnails on the HistoryLink.org website, an educator can easily find basic and historically relevant information that is unique to his or her specific county, city, or town (if an essay on the relevant area has been published).
Students should be informed and historically savvy members of their communities. These materials will help students understand that current events influence the role of a county, city, or town in developing history, and that most of HistoryLink.org's entries are updated when necessary and possible.
This curriculum was developed through a partnership between HistoryLink.org and Heritage 4Culture.
