These Are Matters of Grave Importance
This curriculum project is based on two separate Heritage Education projects funded by King County's 4Culture Heritage Program. The activities have been aligned to Washington state academic standards, and are designed to engage high school students in supervised cemetery-based classroom activities including research, site visits, and basic landscape maintenance.
Carefully prepared lesson plans using selected primary and secondary sources can provide students with a newfound respect for the cemetery as a community-research resource and as a peaceful resting place for former inhabitants of the historic neighborhood in which the students live or go to school.
This curriculum was funded by a partnership between HistoryLink.org and Heritage 4Culture.
