On October 13, 1967, the SuperSonics, Seattle's fledgling NBA (National Basketball Association) franchise, plays its first regular season game vs. the San Francisco Warriors in San Francisco.
Despite getting 20 points from All-Star guard Walt Hazzard, the SuperSonics were blown out by a score of 144-116. One week later, on October 20, the Sonics played their first regular season home game at the Seattle Center Coliseum, a 121-114 loss to expansion cousins the San Diego Rockets.
