Wallingford beginnings: Latona Post Office opens on December 20, 1890.

On December 20, 1890, Latona Post Office opens. John M. Dewey is the first postmaster. The post office closes on July 15, 1901 after the area is annexed to the city of Seattle.

The post office was located at the foot of Latona Avenue near Lake Union. Latona was located four miles north of the business district of Seattle in the future Wallingford neighborhood.
