On June 25, 1892, Star Lake Post Office opens. Mrs. Flora E. Forrest is the first postmaster. On August 24, 1895, the name changes to Starlake. The post office closes on February 28, 1898. Starlake is located in King County 17 miles south of Seattle about 3.5 miles southwest of Kent. It is situated on a small lake named Star Lake.
