Hobart Beginnings: Hobart Post Office opens on May 9, 1903.

On May 9, 1903, Hobart Post Office opens. Hobart is located in southeast King County north of Enumclaw and just northeast of Maple Valley.

William Sidebotham was appointed first postmaster. The mail was distributed from a company store operated by the town's sawmill.
