This is a list of Washington Public Ports, presented in the order they were established. Washington has 75 public port districts, more than any other state. Each is an independent government body, run by commissioners elected by local voters. They operate major marine terminals and small local docks and marinas; international airports and general aviation fields; parks and recreation areas; and industrial and business parks. The state's first port districts were established in 1911, the year that the legislature authorized their formation and created the basic structure that continues to guide port districts in the twenty-first century.
