On June 23, 1890, Veazie Post Office opens. John Russell is the first postmaster. The post office will close on July 28, 1892. Veazie is located 30 miles southeast of Seattle and 4.5 miles northeast of Enumclaw and was on the Northern Pacific and Milwaukee Railroad lines.
