西雅图街区:贝克山 (Mount Baker)--简史

西雅图贝克山社区地处华盛顿湖附近的市区东南部,位于 Leschi 和莱克伍德/苏域柏公园街区之间。此山名为北喀斯喀特火山,坡度和缓,耸立于华盛顿湖之上,海拔 10,788 英尺,山顶常年白雪皑皑,向东可观赏喀斯喀特山脉 (Cascade Range) 的旖旎风姿,向北横跨华盛顿湖,向西则有雷尼尔谷和奥林匹克山 (Olympic Mountains),远眺东北方向的美景,更加令人心旷神怡。在西雅图的发展历程中,该地区可谓相对的后来者。这里最初只有锯木厂,当时林业砍伐从靠近 市区的古老街区向南推进。直到 1905 年之后,贝克山社区才成为居住型社区。当时开发商 J.
