西雅图公共图书馆雷尼尔海滩分馆 (Rainier Beach Branch, The Seattle Public Library)

西雅图公共图书馆雷尼尔海滩分馆是地处西雅图最东南端的分馆。该分馆坐落于 9125 Rainier Avenue S,可追根溯源至 1928 年。最初营业时只有一个店面,但不幸的是,由于经济大萧条,该馆在 4 年后关门停业。自此之后的 34 年间,周边地区再未建立任何图书馆,直至 1966 年,57th Avenue S 上的分馆才开馆。雷尼尔海滩分馆于 1974 年迁入位于 Rainier Avenue 上的 Sea-First Bank 大楼,虽然建筑有些老旧,但此处却是一个较大的街区。1981 年,新落成的分馆大楼投入使用,这也是当时所建的全部分馆中规模最大的一栋。由于雷尼尔海滩分馆规模较大且相对较新,因此在 1998 年“Libraries for All”批准的债券发行案中,计划最后对其实施改造。但由于其他项目的拖延,雷尼尔海滩分馆的改造工程于 2002 年最先开工。经翻新改造后,该馆于 2004 年 1 月重新开馆。
