El 4 de agosto de 1990, Pista sa Nayon, una celebración anual Filipino Americana con comidas, artes, artesanías y entretenimientos tradicionales, se realiza por primera vez en Seattle en el campo de juegos Rainier Playfield, en la esquina de Rainier Avenue S y S Alaska Street. El nombre del evento, traducido aproximadamente del Tagalog, idioma nativo de las Filipinas, significa “festival del pueblo”. Reubicado al anfiteatro de Seward Park en 1995, atrae a miles de personas cada año, para lo que Cindy Cawaling, presidenta del Pista 2010, llamó “la reunión familiar esencial, en una escala maravillosamente grandiosa.
