El Club Estatal de Golf Fir (Fir State Golf Club) se funda en Seattle en 1947.

En 1947, el Club Estatal de Golf Fir es fundado por un grupo racialmente diverso de 15 hombres y mujeres que no eran bien recibidos en los clubes de golf existentes en Seattle en ese momento debido a su raza. Como primer club de golf Afroamericano en la ciudad, ayudan a abrir el camino a una mayor aceptación de las minorías en los campos de golf de la región. El club crea más adelante la Fundación Estatal de Golf Fir (Fir State Golf Foundation) para fomentar la participación de la juventud en el golf y en la comunidad.
